The idea of a resource that can be shared among Community Health Centers goes back many years. In the early 1980′s before the world wide web and even email were prevalent, we had something called BPHC Access It was an early attempt to use technology to push information from the bureau down to the grantees. At the time  BPHC representatives were asked how the health centers could use the system to communicate back to the BPHC and with each other.

We had a dial up electronic Bulletin Board System with dial up modems (remember those?) called Community HealthNet. Then the Internet and the World Wide Web came into our lives. FQHC.org was created back then to foster communication among FQHCs.

This portal in collaboration with FQHC Associates, LLC is a means to provide information of interest to Federally Qualified Health Centers. Whether you are a staff at a health center, at a PCA/PCO, at an organization that works with FQHCs, at an government agency, or part of the vendor community serving FQHCs; at FQHC Associates our goal is to provide information that will bring people and appropriate resources together. Our objective here is to provide an online resource of reliable information and links of relevance to FQHCs and their partners. We welcome your feedback.
